Delaware electricity prices in context

Delaware's residential electricity rate stood at 19.38¢/kWh in May 2026, placing the state 19th among the most expensive in the nation. This rate ran 0.94¢/kWh above the US average of 18.44¢/kWh, a difference of 5.1%. The three bordering states all charged more: New Jersey at 23.27¢/kWh, Maryland at 21.77¢/kWh, and Pennsylvania at 21.55¢/kWh.
